Flower Guild Mission
Saint Mark’s Flower Guild was founded in 1983 in order to create arrangements for the Altar each week, as well as to coordinate festive arrangements through-out the church sanctuary during the Christmas and Easter seasons.
Skillfully led by Betty Gorman for many years, the Flower Guild has been a regular participant in the Columbus Museum of Art’s “Art in Bloom” program, given demonstrations on the art of liturgical flower arranging, and visited the National Cathedral to learn more about decorating in a sacred space.
Members serve on a rotation each month, being responsible for a particular Sunday. New members are always welcome, and can work alongside more experienced guild members.
Giving Memorial Flowers
Flowers may be given in memory of loved ones, in celebration for an anniversary or a birth or for any occasion for which we give thanks to God. Opportunities arise weekly and during festive seasons such as Christmas and Easter.
