Worship at Saint Mark’s

Our regular Sunday services are at 8 & 10:30 a.m.

The 8 o’clock service is what Episcopalians call Rite I.  The liturgical language is older and more formal.  There are no hymns at the 8 o’clock service.  During the summer the 8 o’clock service moves out to our patio.

The 10:30 service is more updated and less formal language.  This is the service with hymns and choir.  During the summer our choirs take a break, but there is still hymns and organ music.

During the year we do some special services including Choral Evensong, which is a sung evening prayer.

Baptism

The Episcopal Church practices infant baptism and we also baptize people who have not yet been baptized in any Christian church and wish to be baptized.  Baptisms take place during the course of the Sunday morning services.  If you have a child who you would like to have baptized or if you would like to be baptized yourself, email Pastor Vicki at rector@saintmarkscolumbus.org.

Marriage

Marriage in the Episcopal Church is open to couples regardless of the gender identity of the two people involved.

Because the Episcopal Church considers marriage a sacramental act, all marriages at Saint Mark’s are conducted by our clergy using the rites of the Episcopal Church.

Details about planning a wedding at Saint Mark’s can be found here.

If you are interested in being married at Saint Mark’s, please contact Pastor Vicki at rector@saintmarkscolumbus.org.

Funerals and Memorial Services

Saint Mark’s provides funerals and memorial services to anyone, regardless of church affiliation, using the rites of the Episcopal Church.

Details on planning a funeral at Saint Mark’s can be found here.

Interment is available in our Memorial Garden.

If you are interested in a funeral or memorial service at Saint Mark’s for you or a loved one, please contact Pastor Vicki at rector@saintmarkscolumbus.org.
