“Almighty God, whom truly to know is everlasting life: Grant us so perfectly to know your Son Jesus Christ to be the way, the truth, and the life, that we may steadfastly follow his steps in the way that leads to eternal life; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.”
Book of Common Prayer, page 225
Proclaiming the Good News of God’s reconciling message to the world is central to the mission of Saint Mark’s. We take the charge: “Preach the Gospel – use words when necessary” as a call for dynamic and accessible interpretation of God’s Word in our lives. In a new ministry of digital communication this message is often recorded and placed online.
Preaching at Saint Mark’s takes the form of formal sermons from the parish pulpit, informal homilies often involving props and displays, children’s homilies on the First Sunday of each month as well as lay speakers addressing timely topics such as Stewardship and Giving.
