Seattle_-_St._Mark's_Cathedral_-_choir_loft_01_-_cropped_for_symmetrySunday at 10:30 a.m. the Saint Mark’s Choir sings Peter Hallock’s “The Lord Is My Light” and Richard Farrant’s “Hide Not Thou Thy Face from Us, O Lord.” Tyler Robertson plays organ works by Johann Gottfried Walther and Christian Geist. All are welcome!

Pictured here is the organ and choir loft at Saint Mark’s Episcopal Cathedral in Seattle, where Peter Hallock (1924-2014) was organist and choirmaster from 1951 to 1991. Hallock’s ethereal anthem “The Lord Is My Light” makes creative use of dissonance to emphasize the otherworldly nature of the text, drawn from several psalms, with its themes of divine help and protection.
